After listening to "Knowing the Father" class, you may have realized: I do need to hear the Father say He loves me and He is proud of me.
Even just hearing the name of the class, you might have initially thought you didn’t need it or have already heard it enough.
We all need a father. We need protection, guidance, and affection.
Fear comes from a lack of love, as 1 John 4:18 explains: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”
We experience many “fears” - fear of tomorrow, fear of man, fear of the future. Fears can seem unending. This fear is rooted in not fully knowing the depth of the Father’s love.
Perhaps after this class, you realized there was a lack in your earthly father or parents. Maybe they were not able to love you or chose not to love you to the full extent you needed. Maybe you have been spiritually or literally fatherless.
It’s vital we find deliverance from all fears by going to our Heavenly Father. We learned Jesus made a way to the Father, so we can pray directly to God as our caring Father.
This week when dread, anxiety, work pressures or fear strike, take them to your Father. Pray to Him as the loving Father He is.
As a scared child finds comfort and safety in a parent’s room, we can take refuge under God’s protective wings when we draw close. I felt protected and safe under my parent’s covering as a frightened child.
Don’t run from God, run to Him. Come boldly as a child and step under His wings. Psalm 91:4 says “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”
God deeply desires as a perfect Father to shelter you as His precious child. Matthew 23:37 says “...I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.”
He won't impose himself on us because he isn’t that kind of Father. He won't force his will on us. We have to be willing to come to him. Even with all the junk that makes us feel unworthy to approach him, Jesus defeated that. His blood covers that junk. God wants to cleanse us from it. We can’t do it ourselves.
So don’t run from the Father. RUN TO HIM.
Our healing lies in reconciliation with our Heavenly Father.
